Jesus answered, “My Kingdom is not an earthly kingdom. If it were, my followers would fight to keep me from being handed over to the Jewish leaders. But my Kingdom is not of this world.”
Pilate said, “So you are a king?”
Jesus responded, “You say I am a king. Actually, I was born and came into the world to testify to the truth. All who love the truth recognize that what I say is true.”
“What is truth?” Pilate asked.
With so many news stories, theories, and government restrictions we all want to know what is really behind everything going on today?
“What is truth?”
The religious leaders of Jesus’ day were so caught up in their own ways, their own rules, their own agendas they completely missed the truth.
They were blind to the truth.
Jesus said that He is the way, the truth, and the life!
This is what the Lord says:
“Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans,
who rely on human strength
and turn their hearts away from the Lord.
They are like stunted shrubs in the desert,
with no hope for the future.
They will live in the barren wilderness,
in an uninhabited salty land.
“But blessed are those who trust in the Lord
and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.
They are like trees planted along a riverbank,
with roots that reach deep into the water.
Such trees are not bothered by the heat
or worried by long months of drought.
Their leaves stay green,
and they never stop producing fruit.
Jeremiah 17:5-8
God’s word is filled with examples of those who chose to believe truth over lies. Choosing to look to the truth will bring hope and confidence. It will cause your roots to grow deep into the living water of God so that whenever hard times come you will not be bothered, your life will stay peaceful, and you will live the life God intended for you to live, a fruitful and abundant life!
